I like this book a lot it is a nice family story it really gets u thinking about there culture and what is valuable to them. In the book the author describes Kino and his wife Janna as good people. He goes on saying that they are good to their people and they are good to their son, they are loving and caring people. When Steinbeck described how Kino found the pearl it kind of got me excited. I was just wanting to see what happened next. Also it seemed kind of sketchy how the doctor didn’t care about helping Coyotito with his scorpion sting until he hears the roamer that Kino had found the "Pearl of the World". I did not like the fact that Kino said that it was okay for the doctor to come in his house and try to help Coyotito get better. Steinbeck made it seem like
all the doctor did was make the baby sick and then come back to fix what he had done. All the doctor really wants is the pearl because he is conniving and he just wants to be the wealthiest man in the town.
